Sunlu Dryer v2 Unboxing & Review


Hi All, 


In today’s I will unbox and review the new Fila Dryer S2 from SunLu.


First Let’s go over few questions - 


What is 3D Printing? 3D Printing is a method of creating a 3 dimensional models by stacking layers over layers using designs created by Computer assisted designs aka CAD. 


What is a Filament Dryer?

Filament Dryers allow you to refresh your old filament that has been exposed to humidity. 


I was introduced to the 3D Printing over a year ago, and I have been printing multiple things to repair/improve things around the house.  As I started to print more and more, I noticed some of these issues

  • filament is getting brittle, and breaks during feeding
  • not printing correctly due to wet filament
  • not sticking to the bed. 


Does this mean, your filament is useless? The answer is no.


What can you do? This is where the Filament Dryer comes in Handy.  Filament dryers dries your filament by heating up the filament before its melting point. This basically refreshes your filament to new stage.


I have been using SunLu FilaDryer S1. This dryer has been great. However, i had few issues

  • Heating Element on the bottom, therefore i had to turn the filament every few hours for even heating
  • No hygrometer, therefore relative humidity isnt measured unless you install your own
  • Time limitation (max was 24h)
  • Temp Limitation (max was 55)


Btw I’d like to thank SunLu for Sending me a FilaDryer 2 to test.


This Unit not only looks fantastic, but works great.  This unit uses same power source (48w brick) and has massive improvements over the prior model

  • Dual Heating element, no need to turn the filament around
  • built in hygrometer, tells you humidity level inside
  • Time limitation was increased to 99H
  • Max Temp is now bumped to 77
  • Save Power by providing even heat from top and bottom


Overall, i really love the upgrades SunLu did to this FilaDryer S2. If you currently do not own one, i’d definitely recommend investing in one of these, if you reside in high humidity areas.

Getting back to the routine

Hi All, It has been a while since I posted on my Blog. I have been quite busy since my other half has gotten back into school. It has been a bit of a struggle between managing work, kids, and the house.
